It is the intent of the Automotive Technology Program at Lycoming Career and Technology Center to help prepare students to become automotive technicians with the skills employers require. This course will introduce the students to the operation of today’s complex vehicles by giving them a basic understanding of the following automotive systems: Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical and Electronics, and Engine Performance.

The Automotive Technician will service and maintain all types of automobiles and light trucks. Students must be able to learn and keep up with new advances in technology within the automotive industry. Students who complete this program will acquire the necessary skills to diagnose and repair mechanical and computer controlled electronic systems on the latest models of automobiles and light trucks.
