We hosted a Career Fair with 25 amazing participants who gave our students the chance to ask questions, explore career paths, and start building toward their goals. This isn’t just networking—it’s the first step toward a career.

Proud to spotlight Lyco CTC’s Construction Trades program and its exceptional seniors: Katie Shipton, Tyler Creasy, and Evan Mackenzie. Each demonstrated exemplary academic performance, technical proficiency, professionalism, and leadership — qualities that make them valuable hires for local contractors. All three plan to enter the local construction workforce after graduation. Recognition includes Katie’s PA Home Builders Association Endorsed Trades Program Outstanding Student Award and Tyler and Evan’s West Branch Home Builders Association School-to-Work Awards.

Our Criminal Justice students participated in Emergency Preparedness Day at Allenwood Prison, gaining direct exposure to coordinated emergency operations. The event featured State Police, county fire departments, EMT teams, K-9 demonstrations, Life Flight and the state police helicopter, animal rescue units, and child fingerprinting. Valuable cross-agency collaboration and practical experience that build readiness and professional insight.
The Pre-Nursing & Health Sciences students participated in Medical Office Olympics. Events included filing records the fastest, triaging phone calls, scheduling appointments, deciphering doctor's orders, and a cumulative Kahoot battle.
Our Construction Technology program toured the Washingtonville Talen Energy Plant (formerly PP&L) and learned about a wide range of job opportunities — both with Talen Energy and with subcontractors. 🏗️🔌
Students got a first-hand look at real-world roles, asked questions, and explored future career options.

We partnered with Pennsylvania College of Technology and local emergency responders to provide an event focused on the dangers of impaired and unsafe driving, especially during prom season. Students observed a staged mock car crash simulation with a real-world emergency response. No one was injured. The simulation included sirens, loud noises, emergency vehicles, and individuals acting as injured persons.
