The Health Careers students are currently learning about the basics of nutrition and the many therapeutic diets that are utilized to improve certain medical conditions. To reinforce the food guidelines related to specific therapeutic diets, students created food trucks designed to serve food to particular patient populations. Students had to determine a theme for their truck and then create an entree, side dish, and dessert appropriate to their assigned therapeutic diet. Students were also required to identify the types of patients that would benefit by eating at their food truck.
